Horticulture with Garden Design 2
H + GD2 is a comprehensive course covering all aspects of horticulture and garden design practice and is intended to be studied in conjunction with a significant amount of real ' hands on' practical experience and/or tuition. Although quite accessible to everyone interested in the subject areas, the course is designed primarily for those intending to enter the landscape and garden design profession and involves a minimum 300 hours of tutor led study, plus project work and is usually taken over a period of two years.
A comprehensive introduction to horticultural science and practice is an important
part of this course and is included to ensure that all students have the necessary
background knowledge that is essential for competent and successful garden design.
Since the material included is a (much) extended version of our RHS (level 2), students
on this course are fully prepared and able to sit the RHS examination if they so
wish. The vast majority of students take this option since it provides a valuable
additional qualification.
The course starts off with study book one of 'An Introduction
to Garden Design' and continues to cover all the elements listed for GD 1, GD 2 and
RHS (level 2) -
